Designer - Kids Sleepwear

Our client, a growing kids apparel company, is seeking a Designer - Kids Sleepwear to join their team in New York.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and oversee the development of sleepwear from inception to the finished product line, based on market and trend analysis, with direction from the Design Director.
  • Collaborate closely with all relevant teams to implement product vision and technical specifications.
  • Manage every aspect of the development process to ensure product quality during mass production.
  • Conduct market research for both competitive insights and creative inspiration.
  • Create and relay tech packs to the Technical Design team.
  • Develop BOMs for all items and manage any necessary updates throughout the development process.
  • Follow and comply with the seasonal development timeline.
  • Oversee fabric and artwork approvals to ensure consistent quality and execution.
  • Generate and maintain line sheets and design visual references.
  • Participate in all cross-departmental meetings, addressing and resolving product development challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in fashion design or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in product design and development.
  • Expertise in the relevant classification/category.
  • Strong knowledge of sleepwear requirements.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience in PLM software is a bonus.
  • High work ethic and integrity.
  • Ability to adapt positively to work pressures.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in office full time.
