Digital Communications Manager
A non-profit organization is seeking a talented and innovative Digital Communications Manager to lead and enhance the organization's social and digital media efforts. This role is instrumental in advancing the organization's mission by developing, editing, and publishing compelling content across multiple platforms. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams to create impactful campaigns that elevate our brand visibility and engage our audience.
This role is based in Culver City, CA, 3x weekly on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to set goals, troubleshoot, and execute campaigns aligned with strategic objectives.
- Design and implement social and digital media strategies that reflect organizational priorities and goals.
- Manage and oversee social media platforms, including daily creation of original content such as text, photos, videos, and news updates.
- Develop and execute campaigns using diverse media types, including programmatic audio, video, display ads, and social media platforms.
- Conduct research on current trends and audience preferences to inform strategy.
- Analyze and report on the short- and long-term impact of media campaigns.
- Stay current with emerging digital technologies and social media trends.
- Select and implement appropriate media types and programmatic platforms for various campaigns.
- Create and manage website content and updates, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging.
- Develop and distribute regular email communications to the organization's audience.
- Share content across multiple channels and monitor analytics to optimize performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred; knowledge or coursework in natural resources, wildlife science, conservation, or a related field is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in social or digital media management.
- Proven experience as a social media manager, with a strong portfolio showcasing original content creation (text, image, video).
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into engaging, accessible content.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, and HubSpot.
- Familiarity with website design and editing platforms (e.g., WordPress).
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in podcast production and audio editing is a plus
