Senior Technical Designer - Childrenswear
Our client, a leading baby brand, is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join their team in NYC!
Hybrid Schedule
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs with accurate specifications, construction details, and material sourcing information.
- Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to address fit issues and implement necessary adjustments.
- Work closely with design, product development, and production teams to align on all stages of product development.
- Provide technical support throughout sampling and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure samples meet quality standards and align with the brand’s design vision.
- Review and refine patterns, ensuring accurate grading across sizes for product consistency.
- Ensure technical specifications comply with safety regulations, including CPSIA and other industry standards.
- Lead and manage technical design timelines to meet development milestones and deadlines
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in technical design, preferably in children’s apparel or sleepwear.
- Proficient in garment construction, fabric types, trims, and technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of pattern making and garment grading.
- High attention to detail, particularly in fit, construction, and product consistency.
- Comprehensive knowledge of children’s wear standards and safety regulations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, Textile Science, or a related field is preferred.
