Senior Technical Designer - Childrenswear

Our client, a leading baby brand, is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join their team in NYC!

Hybrid Schedule

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain detailed tech packs with accurate specifications, construction details, and material sourcing information.
• Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to address fit issues and implement necessary adjustments.
• Work closely with design, product development, and production teams to align on all stages of product development.
• Provide technical support throughout sampling and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure samples meet quality standards and align with the brand’s design vision.
• Review and refine patterns, ensuring accurate grading across sizes for product consistency.
• Ensure technical specifications comply with safety regulations, including CPSIA and other industry standards.
• Lead and manage technical design timelines to meet development milestones and deadlines

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in technical design, preferably in children’s apparel or sleepwear.
• Proficient in garment construction, fabric types, trims, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of pattern making and garment grading.
• High attention to detail, particularly in fit, construction, and product consistency.
• Comprehensive knowledge of children’s wear standards and safety regulations
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Technology, Textile Science, or a related field is preferred.
