VP of Design & Merchandising - Sleepwear

Our client, an established clothing company, is seeking a VP of Design & Merchandising – Sleepwear to join their team in NYC!


Responsibilities:‍

• Develop and execute the creative vision and merchandising strategy for the sleepwear category.
• Lead design and product development teams to create innovative, trend-driven collections.
• Oversee assortment planning, ensuring alignment with brand identity and market demand.
• Manage fabric and trim sourcing to enhance product quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth.
• Collaborate with sales, production, and marketing teams to drive business objectives.
• Ensure collections meet financial goals, including margin targets and inventory efficiency.
• Present seasonal lines to key stakeholders and retail partners.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and factory partners.
• Mentor and develop design and merchandising teams to foster creativity and innovation.

Qualifications:‍

• 7+ years of experience in design and merchandising, preferably in sleepwear or intimates.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Expertise in trend forecasting, fabric sourcing, and product development.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
• Proven track record of driving sales and profitability through design and merchandising.
• Ability to work full-time on site.
