Junior Print Designer

Our client, a well-known childrenswear brand, is seeking a Junior Print Designer to join their NYC team! This is a great opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented designer to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contribute to playful and original textile designs for baby and kidswear collections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing repeat patterns, placed graphics, and print layouts for seasonal collections
  • Support print development through trend research, color exploration, and production-ready file prep
  • Collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams to align designs with brand direction
  • Help maintain artwork libraries, seasonal color standards, and organized documentation
  • Prepare print mockups and assist in internal reviews and presentations
  • Track market trends, color direction, and emerging print techniques
  • Communicate with vendors regarding sample requests, file formatting, and hand-offs (with senior team guidance)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in textile or print design (internships included); children’s apparel experience a plus
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; familiarity with digital tools like Procreate is a plus
  • Strong understanding of color, repeat construction, and pattern layout
  • Basic knowledge of fabric types and printing techniques (rotary, screen, digital)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong file management skills
  • Eager to learn and grow in a creative, team-driven environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, collaborative attitude
