Accounting Manager

Our client, a growing financial services company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team in Brentwood. This on-site role offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and oversee daily accounting operations, manage a team, and contribute to high-level strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, prior experience managing staff, and a background in both financial and operational accounting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support 2–3 accounting staff (on-site and remote outsourced)
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accuracy across all functions
  • Own general ledger management, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Partner with the CFO on monthly financial statement preparation and review
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Oversee internal and external audits, including bank audits
  • Collaborate with the CFO on bank reporting and maintaining relationships
  • Lead initiatives to improve accounting processes and implement best practices
  • Manage the preparation and recording of journal entries, including entries from LeaseWorks to QuickBooks
  • Oversee annual 1099 preparation and filing process
  • Ensure compliance with all company accounting policies and internal controls

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with prior experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Business/Finance with accounting coursework completed
  • CPA preferred or strong progress toward certification
  • Strong financial and operational accounting knowledge
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; SQL or Access a plus
  • Experience with automated accounting systems; QuickBooks strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Salary: $120,000–$150,000, based on experience and qualifications. Significant room for growth within the role and the company.
