Junior's Dress Designer

Our client, a wholesale apparel company, is seeking a Junior's Dress Designer to join their NYC team!

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of junior dress lines each season, from concept through final design
  • Conduct trend and competitor research to guide design direction
  • Develop mood boards, color stories, and detailed technical packages
  • Partner with production to ensure styles are manufacturable and cost-aligned
  • Participate in fit sessions and provide actionable feedback on garments
  • Collaborate with merchandising to align creative ideas with business goals
  • Keep current on new fabrications, techniques, and youth style shifts
  • Contribute to internal design reviews and prepare visuals for presentations and trade events

Qualifications

  • Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a similar discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing apparel, ideally in the junior or dress category
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design tools
  • Skilled in both hand sketching and creating detailed technical drawings
  • Deep knowledge of fabric types, color use, and construction techniques
  • Strong awareness of current fashion and youth market trends
  • Clear, concise communicator with solid collaboration skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-moving, team-based setting


$80k-$115k depending on experience.

Full time in office, 5 days a week.
