Senior Designer

Our client, a high-end women's contemporary brand, is seeking a Senior Designer to join their team in New York.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to translate seasonal inspiration, mood, and brand DNA into cohesive women’s woven collections
  • Design and develop styles from concept through production, ensuring creative vision and commercial goals are aligned
  • Produce detailed flat sketches, technical drawings, specs, and comprehensive tech packs to support accurate execution
  • Research market trends, fabric innovations, and category performance to inform seasonal direction and assortment strategy
  • Partner cross-functionally with Technical Design, Production, and E-commerce teams throughout the development process
  • Own design timelines and deliverables, maintaining alignment with the seasonal calendar and key milestones
  • Communicate closely with overseas factories to oversee sampling, revisions, and approvals while protecting design intent
  • Source and develop fabrics, trims, and embellishments in partnership with Production to elevate seasonal collections

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of experience designing women’s ready-to-wear, preferably within contemporary or luxury fashion
  • Strong expertise in woven apparel, with a refined eye for proportion, detail, and silhouette
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; solid working knowledge of Excel
  • Deep understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and global manufacturing processes
  • Ability to balance creative execution with business needs in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience designing tailored, structured, or sportswear silhouettes is a plus
  • Elevated aesthetic sensibility with a strong foundation in concept development and visual storytelling
