VP Media Strategist/Planner

We’re looking for a VP Strategist/Planner to lead development of Upfront strategy across linear TV, CTV, and sponsorships. This role is ideal for someone deeply familiar with the Upfront process, current marketplace dynamics, and the tools and technology shaping today’s media landscape. You’ll bring a strong data and measurement mindset, with the ability to translate insights into clear, defensible media recommendations.

This is a highly collaborative, detail-driven role with visibility across internal teams, clients, and partners.

Duration: 3-4 months
Pay: $100-115/hr
Location: Playa Vista/El Segundo, CA
Schedule: Hybrid, on-site 2 days/week


What You’ll Do

• Lead development of Upfront strategy across linear, CTV, and sponsorships
• Collaborate on holistic media and marketing recommendations
• Build and maintain integrated client media plans grounded in data and insights
• Leverage research and planning tools to inform strategic decision-making
• Provide strong rationale and measurement frameworks behind recommendations
• Partner cross-functionally with internal teams, clients, and agency partners
• Manage workflows, timelines, and expectations to ensure seamless execution
• Oversee budgets in partnership with finance and ensure accurate monthly tracking
• Supervise Assistant Media Planner to ensure error-free deliverables
• Maintain organized documentation and reporting for easy retrieval


What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working for a Media Agency is required
• Proven experience leading multiple Upfront engagements
• Deep understanding of linear, CTV, and sponsorship planning
• Strong grasp of media research tools, data, and measurement frameworks
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-driven
• Comfortable representing the agency in client and industry settings
