Private Chef
Our client, a warm family, is seeking an experienced and refined Private Chef to elevate their daily dining experience. The ideal candidate brings exceptional culinary technique, outstanding organization, and the ability to operate with calm professionalism in a private home. The Chef will manage all aspects of kitchen operations while preparing balanced, seasonal meals that reflect the household’s preferences and lifestyle.
Role Overview
The Chef will prepare lunch and dinner five days per week, support occasional intimate gatherings, and oversee menu development, ingredient sourcing, and kitchen maintenance. This role suits someone who works independently, maintains a discreet presence, and consistently delivers high quality, beautifully presented dishes.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare daily lunch and dinner tailored to the family’s tastes, dietary needs, and wellness goals.
• Support small scale entertaining such as family dinners and casual business meals.
• Develop weekly menus and source premium, seasonal ingredients from trusted vendors.
• Manage pantry inventory, stock rotation, ordering, and efficient ingredient use to minimize waste.
• Maintain a pristine kitchen environment, resetting the space to a fully organized state each day.
• Work discreetly by managing noise, aromas, and workflow to ensure the home remains undisturbed.
• Collaborate professionally with principals and household staff, providing menu updates and event input when needed.
• Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and equipment care standards.
Qualifications
Required
• Background as a Private Chef, Yacht Chef, or experience in a boutique, high quality restaurant setting.
• Demonstrated ability to run a kitchen independently and efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills and strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Comfortable maintaining a calm, professional presence within a private household.
Preferred
• Experience working in high net worth residences.
• Existing vendor relationships in Los Angeles.
• Ability to support intimate events of approximately 6–12 guests.
• Spanish language skills for coordination with household staff.
